Dear Friend

For three days last July, I walked from San Jose to San Francisco. I slept in a tent, showered in a truck and rolled out of my sleeping bag at about 5:00 each morning so that I could do it all again. I had the privlege of tenting with a wonderful young woman who, like me, hadn't been personally touched by Breast Cancer but who wanted to "do something really cool." She did. I experienced an outpouring of appreciation, love and support from total strangers as I trudged up San Bruno's Hillcrest Drive. I used porta potties exclusively and have become quite the expert. I had the time of my life and I am doing it again in 2002.

The Avon 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk was just a concept last year. Now with my mileage behind me it is a reality that I can't wait to repeat. Because of the generosity of friends, family and co-workers over $3,300 was raised by me to help with early detection, education and research. The entire walked netted over five million dollars. That translates to lives saved, and bodies and families that remain whole.
